We're in the holiday period which, on the whole, find things a little quieter. Even so, group meetings are very well attended by both Associates and Observers, with the continuing good weather enticing people out.
We've had a good few test passes recently and welcome those new full members to the fold.
The Post test rides (PTR) programme is still going strong. These rides are for full members with an Observer, to get feedback where their ride may have slipped (or not) since passing their test.
I am party to an IAM Roadsmart newsletter. In it, the Bristol group were letting everyone know they had recruited 14 new Associates in the last month. We will quietly go about our business being an amazing group. Oh by the way, we recruited 28 new Associates in the same period!
Ted Etherington’s funeral was held on the 14th. It was attended by many LAM members and Ted had a motorcycle escort for his motorcycle hearse on his last ride.
There are still places available for the LAM Wales trip in September, so sign up now for this amazing weekend of riding and socialising.
I was pleased to lead this years Chairs run to the Artichoke Inn, Chartham, and host a lunch for the 14 Observers that joined me. It's a rare occasion that so many Observers get to ride together. We had a fun and a challenging 68 miles there and a bit more conventional 55 miles back.
Big thanks to those that attended.
Continuing on from last month I’m pleased to announce Ian Cameron joins the Observer group. Well done mate – lots of hard work to get there.
