    Post Test Ride

We are are now able to offer all FULL members the opportunity for a Post Test Ride (PTR) with an Observer.

LAM Post Test RideThe sessions are open to Full members only, regardless of when they passed their IAM Test and the process is similar to asking for an OR. Simply book your PTR and you will be contacted by a ride leader who will work with you to arrange a convenient time and date.

The focus of the ride is that the  system (IPSGA) is still being used, along with the 5 S's (Safety, System, Smoothness, Speed & Sparkle) and 2 C's (Consider & Compromise). We are not looking at the current “IAM Test" level but a step further, so this ride is slightly more progressive.

The PTR is designed as a 1-to-1 personalised coaching session. However, if you're unsure about a 1-to-1 session, you can buddy-up with another full member and share the experience. Riding as a pair will allow you to interact with each other and various aspects of Group Riding Training can be covered.

The PTR is designed to improve FULL members safety and reinforce the IPSGA System. A PTR is ideal for those members looking to re-take the IAM test aiming for a F1RST Pass, join the IAM Fellowship, or going on to take the Masters, with or without mentoring. We have already polled the Full members and over 90% of those that responded thought it a great idea.

Points to consider during the PTR:

    1. Are you still a Safe and Systematic Rider?
    2. Cornering and Overtaking - are you still safe and using the system?
    3. Use of gears, brakes and acceleration - do you use to much or just engine braking?
    4. Do you ride with a "Plan B" / Escape route in mind at all times for that "What if" moment?
    5. Do you Position for Vision - to see and be seen - and use the available road space?
    6. Use of signals, indicators and brake lights
    7. Do you ride your own ride and not getting sucked into someone else's ride?
    8. Build confidence in the rider and capabilities of the machine they are riding. Are you Over Biked?
    9. Are you in your comfort zone? Where appropriate, your PTR ride leader will help you extend that zone (if needed).

Feedback is verbal or email (no run sheets). It can be entered onto Tracker if the Full member wishes.

PTR cost is £15, to help cover the Ride Leader's petrol and time. Please look after your Ride Leader with Tea and cake during the briefing stop.
