Thanks to Paul for his wise words as we re-adjust to regular riding.

The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed that the front cover photo of the Progress PDF is of a large Red Deer stag,

rather than the usual motorbike. This is not just to make a change, but because we’re re-running an article on the dangers presented by deer and other wild animals, May being one of the peak months for deer activity. Motorcyclists, or at least those who do any kind of mileage in rural areas, are divided in to those who have had to brake or take evasive action to avoid deer and those who are going to have to sooner or later - so be prepared.

Trevor has summarised the interesting results of our census of members’ bikes in the first of two articles and we are re-running another old article by Jon Taylor on a misunderstood and much ignored road sign.

Are there any Members or Associates who would like to feature their bike collection in Progress? If so please contact me.

Fresh material includes Vincent’s summary of his favourite vloggers. I had a look at Dan the Fireman and he’s worth checking, if only for his impressive beard/bald head combo! We also have the ‘Meet the Associate’ feature – more volunteers urgently needed if you want this to continue!

Café of the month will resume in June, when we’ll hopefully be allowed to go inside and sit down and relax with our food and drink. All nominations and submissions gratefully received.

Finally, for all the LAM fashionista we have a light hearted look at style for motorcyclists. Roland, the author can provoke strong opinions wherever he goes, but please don’t take him too seriously!
