Last month’s caption competition featured an impromptu off-road shortcut.

Some of the entries included the following –

“Ohhhhh, there's the road!” - Tim Watson
"A bit faster and I can land the other side of the road on the downramp rather than ride over the table top like him!” - Chris Edwards
“Charlie and Ewan would be so proud of us” - Oop North

Congratulations to Chris Edwards for his winning entry this month. Chris wins a copy of Mauro Carraro’s Kempton Park Auto-jumble book.

LAM’s very own Mauro Carraro, a professional photographer since the late 1970s, has produced a photobook dedicated to the Kempton Park Auto-jumble. For those not in the know, Kempton Park Auto-jumble is one of the best known vintage motorcycle Auto-jumbles in the UK, where enthusiasts gather to exhibit, sell and browse stalls full of vintage motorcycle bric-a-brac and the machines themselves. Mauro’s book showcases images gathered from over a decade of attending the event and contains photos of a multitude of vintage bikes at various stages, both pre and post restoration.

Between now and the end of the year, a flexicover version of Mauro’s book will be awarded each month for the best caption competition entry. A special signed hard copy version of the book will be awarded at the AGM in November for caption competition entry of the year.

For further details of the book, or to order your own copy, see https://www.maurocarraroarchive.com/gallery

This month’s caption features a temporary resting point in another epic LAM outing to a far flung and exotic location. Why not post your entry right now on the forum or leave a comment below to be in with a chance of winning either the monthly or annual caption competition prizes.

And I said to the officer “I am J.R. Hartley and what I’m wearing is perfectly satisfactory for fly fishing.”
